President Trump’s Leadership
Jobs will be THE most important issue facing Michigan. In addition to a strong state response, we will need a strong federal response to our current economic situation. President Trump has shown he knows how to build a strong economy because his economic policies led to one of the strongest economies in US history prior to COVID-19. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus has caused our economy to implode. The best way we can get our economy growing again is to re-elect Donald Trump in 2020, and I am committed to working hard to do just that.
President Trump has clearly demonstrated since taking office that he is the leader America needed for this time. Between his economic policies and his judicial appointments, he has set our country on the right course for decades.
Jobs are Job #1
My number one priority as your State Representative will be to get Michigan back on its feet. I will work to create an environment that will get our community and people throughout Michigan back to work and help reignite our economy after the impact of COVID-19 and Governor Whitmer’s overly restrictive lock-down. We need a commonsense plan in place to address any future pandemics that incorporate a safe/unsafe approach instead of essential/non-essential, effective safety protocols in place where necessary, and a regional application of measures enacted based on science
A decade of Conservative Republican Leadership in Michigan coupled with President Trump’s policies brought our state out of the Lost Decade and back into prosperity. As your State Representative I will continue to build on the economic policies that have helped Michiganders prosper throughout our state.
I understand the importance of backing our heroic men and women of law enforcement. Their jobs are too dangerous and difficult to be worrying about the defund efforts from our Governor. I will fight in Lansing to stop these radical leftist ideas and to restore funding and justice to our law enforcement officers. Former Kent County Sheriff Larry Stelma, current Kent County Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young, and Police Officers Association of Michigan have put their trust in me to get the job done! I will continue to fight for our men and women in uniform.
Common Sense Conservatism
As a commonsense conservative, I will work to create a smaller, more efficient government that prioritizes the hardworking taxpayers over bureaucrats and corporations and ensure fiscally conservative policies are enacted in the state legislature.
I am 100% pro-life and will defend life from conception to death.
No government has the authority to force an individual to violate their religious beliefs. As your State Representative, I will fight any attempt by the government to infringe on our right to religious freedom.
“…the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
– Second Amendment to the US Constitution
I am an avid supporter of the right to keep and bear arms and take to heart the words written in the United States Constitution and our Michigan Constitution. I understand the need for guns for both protection and recreation. Coming from a family of avid hunters and as a supporter of personal protection, I will fight any attempt to infringe on our right to bear arms.
Clean Drinking Water and Environment
As a conservative and an outdoorsman, conservation is important to me. I will protect and preserve our wildlife, lakes, and rivers for responsible recreation today and for future generations. Further, I will work with the legislature to ensure local communities have the clean drinking water that all residents deserve.
Roads and Infrastructure
Michigan’s infrastructure has been a looming challenge for decades, and for far too long, politicians looked at short term solutions to solve the problem. I will work to see that our roads and bridges are rebuilt prioritizing present resources rather than raising taxes. I will work toward a two-pronged approach to address the infrastructure challenges in Michigan – near term and long term, allowing the state to make necessary improvements today, while meticulously planning for tomorrow.
21st Century Education
Preparing our kids for the jobs of tomorrow is critical for the success of our state. We must focus on a skilled workforce by prioritizing vocational education and ensuring all students have access to quality schools no matter in what zip code they live.
As a fourth generation Kent County farmer, I understand the importance agriculture has on our economy and our way of life. Bureaucratic red tape continues to stifle our food providers and all job providers. I will ensure regulations placed on farmers and businesses are only those that are necessary and scientifically based so we as a state can unleash their economic productivity.
